Q4 2020 U.S. Android Market: Top Simulation/Adventure Games Performance

As the year 2020 came to a close, the Android platform witnessed interesting trends in the Simulation/Adventure games category within the United States. Data from Sensor Tower provides a glimpse into the performance of the top five applications in this genre, focusing on downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Here's what the numbers revealed for the fourth quarter of 2020.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery by Jam City, Inc. saw its revenue experiencing a declining trend, starting at approximately $380K in the last week of September and dipping to around $346K by mid-October. However, it picked up again towards the end of December, reaching roughly $346K. Downloads followed a similar pattern with a peak of 42K in early November, but overall, they showed a decreasing trend throughout the quarter. Weekly active users fluctuated, with a high of 320K in mid-October and ending the quarter with nearly 298K users.

Nintendo Co., Ltd.'s Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp experienced a gradual decline in revenue from around $99K at the beginning of the quarter to about $77K at its end. Downloads also decreased, from 21K in late September to approximately 12K by the end of December. The game's weekly active users saw a slight decline, starting at around 286K and ending the quarter with 236K.

Glu's Kim Kardashian: Hollywood showed varying revenue, with a notable peak of approximately $78K in late November. Downloads were highest in early October at around 3.8K but fell to just under 2K by the year's end. The weekly active users started at 21K and saw a dip to nearly 17K in December.

The revenue for Hollywood Story®: Fashion Star by NANOBIT fluctuated, with a notable increase towards the end of December, reaching approximately $58K. Downloads saw a peak of 14.7K in late September, with a general downward trend to 7.7K by the end of December. Weekly active users started at 95.9K and rose to 75.2K in the last week of December.

Lastly, PK XD: Fun, friends & games from Afterverse Games saw its revenue peak at nearly $18K in mid-December. Downloads for the game remained strong, with a high of nearly 50K in late September and late December. The weekly active users showed a slight increase from 452K at the start of the quarter to around 446K at its close.
